I was so excited to be invited to be a speaker for the sixth annual TEDxGunnHighSchool conference this past January. What's really neat about this particular TEDx is that it's produced entirely by high schoolers! They asked me to come and speak about healing and how domestic violence and trauma survivors are more than just a series of statistics (Can I get an amen?!) I ended up talking about my own experience of healing and what it actually took for me to commit to that very personal journey (Many thanks to AnnaLynne, Terry Knickerbocker, and my ever patience counselor, Christine Akerman). In this talk I also shout out to my own "ah-ha moment" when I first shared my personal story on stage in front of strangers for the first time and how that inspired me and my commitment to myself. Click on the photo to view my speech, or click here as well. Why? Because healing IS possible.
